Racing returns next Wednesday

May 15th, 2008

After a brilliant opening day’s racing at Sligo Racecourse in Cleveragh on the week before last, another bumper crowd is expected at the scenic course on Wednesday next, May 21, for the first evening meeting of the year.
The meeting will be a mixed seven-race card consisting of flat and national hunt races, starting at 5.40pm.
There will be four sponsored races - The Belfry Handicap Hurdle, The Fiddlers Creek Bar & Restaurant Maiden Hurdle, The Quayside Shopping Centre Handicap and the The Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Maiden.
As an added bonus to race fans that want to keep and eye on the Champions League final, live coverage of the match will be shown on the big screen in the enclosure.
Admission charges are 15 euro for adults and ten euro for OAPs and students, with children admitted for free.
Group discounts are also available, with prior booking necessary.
As always, there will be free car parking in the centre of the track. Arrive early to avoid delays and avail of the evening menu in the restaurant, which will be open from 3pm, along with the bar.
