Deep concern over planning application

Deep concern was raised after Sligo Borough’s meeting which took place this week, over an obscure planning application.
A number of units situated behind Lidl on the Cranmore Road have been submitted for planning application but one of them was led to believe it could be an amusement arcade.
Councillors are seeking further clarification as to the exact nature of the development and have expressed concern over the matter.
Cllr Tony McLoughlin told the Sligo Post that the planning department of Sligo Borough Council was looking into the nature of the development.
“Already a number of residents have put in submissions expressing concern over the proposed planning.”
He also added that although there was a small amusement arcade in Waterlane, planning permission for the likes of a bigger development such as casino for instance has never been approved in the past.
The matter now lies with the planning department of Sligo Borough Council, which will contact the developer for more information on the proposed development.
